The “cd9 band 2021” is the upcoming album from CD9. It will be released on June 21, 2020.
Friends Jos Canela and Alonso Villalpando created the Mexican boy band CD9 in 2011. Freddy Leyva, Alan Navarro, and William Valdés joined the band shortly after. In the summer of 2013, the group independently released the dance-pop song “The Party.” It generated a lot of buzz on social media and caught Sony Music’s attention. The quintet released their first album, CD9, in the autumn of 2014 after signing with the label and replacing Valdés with Bryan Mouque. It reached the top of the Mexican charts and even charted in Spain.
After releasing Love & Live Edition in 2015, which included alternative versions of songs from their debut and sold out a concert at Mexico City Arena, they followed up with Evolution in 2016, which topped the album chart in their own country as well. Revolution, an extended edition of the album released a few months later, featured content such as English-language and live versions of tracks. They also worked with Korean girl group Crayon Pop on the song “Get Dumb” in 2016, and were featured on Sweet California’s “Vuelves,” which peaked in Spain. Sony published the five-track.5 EP the next year.
