As we approach the end of 2020, spoilers and updates about General Hospital reveal that we at Port Charles would like to know what you think is the best story of 2020! Some of these have already been used, but ended in 2020. Let us know what you think!

Valentine Cassadine found out he wasn’t Cassadine, because.

When Valentine Cassadine (James Patrick Stewart) found out he wasn’t Cassadine, the climate changed to Cassadine forever, if you will. The plot begins with the discovery that Nicholas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) is still alive, in 2019. It has been postponed until 2020, and Nicholas is still trying to drive Valentine out of Cassadine’s mansion and get Cassadine Industries back. A few months were spent trying to find out where the code of the will of Mikkos Cassadine (John Kolikos) was, which according to Nicolas would prove that Valentine was not the true heir.

The battle for Windemere, Spoon Island, Cassadine Island in Greece and Cassadine Industries actually began between Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas J. Bechtel) after Nicholas’ death. But when he was little, all Spencer could do was complain. Nicholas went into battle when he came back. Finally, the codicil of Ava Jerome, now Ava Cassadine (Maura West), was found behind a portrait of Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers). Codicel revealed that Valentine was not the son of Miccos, but the fruit of an affair Helena had had. Nicholas forced Valentine to do a DNA test, which also proved that Valentine wasn’t Cassadine. Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) handed the results to an anesthetized Valentine. So far, Father Valentin’s identity has not been revealed.

Revelation that Wiley Cooper-Jones was actually Jonah Corinth.

Viewers at the hospital will remember that when Lucas Jones (then Ryan Carnes) and Brad Cooper (Perry Shen) adopted Wiley Cooper-Jones (Eric and Theodore Olson), it later turned out that he was the son of Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) and Willow Tate (Katelyn McMullen) and now Willow Corinthos. Unfortunately, the first Wiley died of SIDS a few days ago. Brad, not knowing what to do or how to tell Lucas, put the dead baby in the back seat of his car and drove aimlessly across the country. At the same time, runaway Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) helped Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) with the birth of Jon Corinth (Eric and Theodore Olson) and her son Michael Corinth (Chad Duell). Brad saw Nelle walking with the newborn and stopped to pick her up, and Nelle, knowing she would be stopped, convinced Brad to change babies. She didn’t want the Corinthian family to raise her son.

Brad went to a lot of trouble to keep a dirty secret from Lucas, but his guilt has built up over time. He gave the passage to Julian Jerome (William DeVry), who reluctantly kept his secret, and Julian eventually lost patience with Brad’s shenanigans. He sabotaged Brad’s car, hoping Brad would crash and die. He checked everything, thought only Brad would get hurt, but that put him back. Lucas and Brad drove and argued (fortunately the baby wasn’t in the car at the time), and Lucas drove. Brad admitted that he switched cars for Lucas and swerved to avoid another car driven by Kendra Lennon (Michelle Argyris) who tried to drive over a drugged Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn)!

Julian and Neil Byrne (Joe Flanigan) try to save Alexis from Kendra, who wishes Alexis dead. They came just in time to get Alexis out of the way, and Kendra and Lucas collided! Julian saw another tire track, followed it into the ditch and found Brad and Lucas in the crashed car! Lucas survived, but he had several months of amnesia on the night of the accident. He and Brad had split up after his release from the GH and decided to leave Port Charles when a lucrative job was opened in Portland, Oregon. Then, at a farewell party at Sonny and Carly Corinthos’ home (Maurice Benard, Laura Wright), Lucas remembers Brad’s confession! Unfortunately Lucas did the right thing and entrusted everything to Michael for over a year. Because the baby’s name was always Wylie, Michael kept that name, and he became Wylie Corinth.

Nina Reeves’ daughter is open to Nell Benson – but not to Nina!

The plot continues in the sense that at the time of writing Nina still doesn’t know the truth about her long missing daughter. After Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattson) was put on the wish list as an imposter in 2019, Nina, who now dates Jasper Jax (Ingo Rademacher), has given up looking for her long-lost daughter. Yet she continued to wear the necklace often. Eventually she decided to resume the search for her daughter, with the help of Jax. They traced the half-haired necklace back to a retired New York jeweler using a jewelry label. They then contacted the woman whose name was on the receipt, after she had had great difficulty finding her. Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) helped find the woman, Nina recognized the name.

That was the name of the nurse who treated her when she was in Crichton-Clark, a facility where she had been locked up for twenty-five years, mostly in a coma. The nurse met Jax and Nina at the Metro Court Restaurant, but couldn’t tell them where the baby was. She could tell them that the baby was a girl and was born healthy. A nurse was responsible for hand-delivering the children to the foster parents who were in Florida. At the beginning of the year, in a scene in which Eden McCoy played the teenage girl Carly opposite her stepfather Frank Benson, played by James Patrick Stewart, young Nell (Willa Rose) wore a necklace. Nell’s plot ended with her apparent death by falling off a cliff. She kidnapped Wiley and ran away. Michael followed Wiley with the tracking system left in the toy to the Corinthian holiday home and took Wiley away from Nelle, who walked out the back door.

Carly and Jax, who had followed Michael, arrived at the cabin, and Carly ran after Nell while Jax waited for Carly when she didn’t come back. Michael’s going back to Port Charles with Wiley. Carly and Nelle struggled on the clearing, and Nelle overpowered Carly and knocked her out. Carly came in and heard screams of distress. Nell clung to the edge of the cliff, and although Carly tried to save her, Nell lost her foot and fell, presumably to her death. Jax told Carly to cover that part for fear of being involved in Nell’s death because of his story. A few weeks later, a body was found in Pennsylvania, identified as Nell’s, and returned to Port Charles. At that time, Avery Corinthos-Jerome (Ava and Grace Scarola) stayed in the Corinthos hut with Ava Jer Cassadine (Maura West) and decided to explore the forest at night, which scared Ava and her stepfather Nicholas!

Avery found Nell’s necklace and took it home in her backpack. Sonny saw the necklace, but didn’t know where she got it. Carly saw the necklace, but only remembered a few weeks later that it belonged to Nina and decided not to tell her! Meanwhile, Nina has taken on the responsibility of giving Nell a decent burial, but she still doesn’t know that Nell was her daughter – because Nell has a matching necklace. For a jewellery brand you have to check if it is well adjusted! You’d think Frank Benson would have sold the solid gold necklace a long time ago, after all he’d sold Nell’s kidney!

Mike Corbin dies of Alzheimer’s disease

In one of the saddest stories of 2020, Mike Corbin (Max Gale) lost his battle with Alzheimer’s disease. GH fans, as well as the Corinthian family, saw him decline over the course of the year until his death in September. Earlier this year, Sonny thought he had a chance to cure Mike, or at least postpone the inevitable, when Dr. Griffin Munroe (Matt Cohen) told him about a promising medical trial in New York City. However, what began as a good old-fashioned trip to Bensonhurst, hoping to evoke memories, turned out to be a fight for their lives when Sonny and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) took on criminals who attacked a bar that was one of Mike’s favourites.

Mike suffered a major emotional and mental trauma, and Sonny took him home! From there he went further down, although he still experienced his glorious moments. At one point he got caught up in the puzzle he was working on at Turning Woods and took off his shoe to put it on the unfinished puzzle! In the end he had trouble swallowing and couldn’t eat; Sonny was torn between inserting a feeding tube and letting go. Sonny finally agreed to let Mike die.
